Welcome to the virtual home of Avant-Guardian workshop. While the primary creative minds behind
Avant-Guardian are Melissa Musante and Steven White they often reach into the
community to collaborate with other talented professionals.
Melissa is a filmmaker and visual artist (although she bristles at these titles...see the "i" section for her artists statement). She allows the piece she is working on to choose the media that would best express the work's sense of self. Her still works and experimental films aim to invoke a gut response while her photos, narrative films and documentaries offer a different view of the world.
Steven is a bass player, turntablist and composer of electronic music. His life-long classical training is serving him well as he explores pop, jazz and techno. For him music is 'all about the communication' and he is striving to shout out his message, not with words, but with rhythm and melody.
The Avant Guardian Workshop is located in Milwaukee, WI but you can keep up to date with our happenings here (online calendar forthcoming) with our collection of finished works and works-in-progress. We invite you to browse and share these works with your friends but remind you that all these images and sounds are the property of the people affiliated with this site...please do not claim them as your own.
